One of just two universities representing all there is of counselor education programs in Nevada, the University of Nevada at Reno has a big responsibility to serve students throughout the northern half of the state – and potentially from California, too. And UNR doesn’t disappoint; its two accredited master’s degrees in counseling and Ph.D. program (the department offers a counseling master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling too, although it is not yet accredited) provide a comprehensive yet convenient education for career-driven students. This already affordable graduate counseling program even provides a limited number of assistantships – which come with a stipend, tuition, and health benefits – to help offset the cost of attendance.
